DURING THE 2021 - 22 SCHOOL YEAR, WE PROVIDED AN EXPERIENTIAL, ENGAGING EDUCATION FOR A TOTAL OF 60 STUDENTS, K-8. SPECIFICALLY, WE DESIGNED A CURRICULUM AND PEDAGOGY BUILT UPON STUDENTS' INTRINSIC MOTIVATION TO LEARN AND MAKE REAL-WORLD CONNECTIONS. TEACHER-DIRECTED AND STUDENT-DIRECTED PROJECTS FORMED THE BASIS FOR STUDENT WORK, TYPICALLY WITH A REAL-WORLD AUDIENCE IN MIND. BEYOND JUST THE "3 R'S", OUR STUDENTS ARE BUILDING THEIR 21ST CENTURY SKILLS AND STRONG HABITS OF MIND: SELF-AWARENESS; EMPATHY AND KINDNESS; CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION; CURIOSITY; CONFIDENCE; RESPONSIBILITY; CRITICAL THINKING; PROBLEM SOLVING; COLLABORATION; PERSEVERANCE; LISTENING AND UNDERSTANDING. IDEA SCHOOL STUDENTS GROW TO TAKE CHARGE OF THEIR LEARNING AND THEREFORE THEIR LIVES, BOTH IN AND OUT OF SCHOOL.
