THE JUNIPER FUND PROVIDES RELIEF FUNDS VIA SHANGRI-LA NEPAL FOUNDATION, A NEPAL BASED NGO, TO FAMILIES WHO HAVE SUFFERED POVERTY AND FINANCIAL STRAIN AS A RESULT OF THE DEATH OF THE SOLE FINANCIAL SUPPORT DUE TO AN ACCIDENT OR MEDICAL INCIDENT WHILE WORKING IN THE HIMALAYAN MOUNTAINS DURING COMMERCIAL OR PRIVATE EXPEDITIONS. RECIPIENTS WERE GIVEN FINANCIAL SUPPORT THROUGH 3 PRIMARY PROGRAMS: 1) COST OF LIVING AND NEEDS BASED GRANTS, 2) VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND SCHOLARSHIPS, AND 3) BUSINESS GRANTS.
