GIRLS ON THE RUN PHILADELPHIA OFFERS TWO AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS: GIRLS ON THE RUN, FOR GIRLS FROM 3RD TO 5TH GRADE AND HEART & SOLE, FOR GIRLS 6TH TO 8TH GRADE. THE PROGRAM IS OFFERED AT ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND RECREATION CENTERS. THE GIRLS ON THE RUN CURRICULUM INCLUDES THREE PARTS: UNDERSTANDING THEMSELVES, VALUING TEAMWORK, AND UNDERSTANDING HOW WE CAN INTERACT WITH AND INFLUENCE THE WORLD. THE CURRICULUM IS ADMINISTERED THROUGH DYNAMIC RUNNING ACTIVITIES AND GAMES. AT EACH SEASON'S CONCLUSION, THE GIRLS COMPLETE A 5K RUNNING EVENT WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
