THE SOUTH DAKOTA PHCC SHALL EXIST TO ENSURE THE PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND SANITATION THROUGH THE TRAINING AND EDUCATION OF PLUMBING, HEATING AND COOLING CONTRACTORS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES. FURTHER, THE ORGANIZATION WILL OPERATE AND SUPPORT AN ACTIVE AND EFFECTIVE APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM. THE ORGANIZATION SHALL FURTHER SUPPORT THE STANDARDIZATION OF ALL MATERIALS AS APPLIED TO INSTALLATION OF PLUMBING, HEATING OR COOLING SYSTEMS AND SHALL SUPPORT UNIFORM CODES AND CODE ENFORCEMENT. THE ORGANIZATION SHALL PROVIDE TRAINING AND EDUCATION FOR ITS MEMBERS RELATED TO SOUND BUSINESS PRACTICES AND THE ETHICAL OPERATION OF MEMBERS' BUSINESSES. APPROXIMATELY 70 CONTRACTOR MEMBERS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE PROVIDED SERVICES RELATED TO INDUSTRY AND BUSINESS TRAINING. THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IS ONE OF THE MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THIS ORGANIZATION. MEMBER FIRMS ARE PROVIDED SERVICES, TRAINING AND MATERIALS TO MAINTAIN QUALITY & IMPROVED PERFORMANCE FOR APPRENTICE TRADESMEN. AN ANNUAL AVERAGE OF 120 APPRENTICES ARE ENROLLED IN THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IN THE PLUMBING, SHEET METAL AND HVAC TRADES. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 1. OPERATION OF THE CONTINUING EDUCATION TRAINING PROGRAM TO HELP LICENSE HOLDERS COMPLY WITH CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS. THIS SERVED AS THE BASIS OF A PROGRAM THAT INCLUDED APPROXIMATELY 2,500 LICENSE HOLDERS. 2.CONDUCTED EVENTS THAT INCLUDED TRAINING ON EFFECTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES, SAFETY LEADERSHIP TRAINING, HEALTH HAZARDS, AND GENERAL EDUCATION FOR THE PROFESSION.
