THE COLORADO HIGH SCHOOL CYCLING LEAGUE WORKS TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN SAFE, QUALITY HIGH SCHOOL MOUNTAIN BIKE PROGRAMS IN COLORADO AND SURROUNDING STATES.

THE COLORADO HIGH SCHOOL CYCLING LEAGUE PROMOTES POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT THROUGH INTERSCHOLASTIC MOUNTAIN BIKING FOR YOUTH IN COLORADO, SOUTHERN WYOMING, SPEARFISH, SOUTH DAKOTA, AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO. WE BELIEVE IN A CULTURE OF INCLUSIVITY AND THAT ALL STUDENTS SHOULD BE SUPPORTED IN THEIR ABILITY TO PARTICIPATE. WE PROVIDE AN EEXCEPTIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE SERIES, A FESTIVE COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, INSURANCE AND SUPPORT TO TEAMS AND COACHES, REGARDLESS OF EXPERIENCE OR LEVEL OF EXPERTISE, AND A COMPREHENSIVE INFRASTRUCTURE THAT FOSTERS SAFE RESPECTFUL COMPETITION, HIGHLIGHTED BY THE COMMON GOAL TO DEVELOP A LIFELONG APPRECIATION OF THE OUTDOORS. THE PURPOSE IS TO EMPOWER YOUTH AND BUILD COMMUNITY. WE ARE GUIDED BY THE PRINCIPLES OF INCLUSIVITY, EQUALITY AND STEWARDSHIP. IN 2021, THE COLORADO LEAGUE PROVIDED PROGRAMMING TO 86 TEAMS REPRESENTING APPROXIMATELY 180 HIGH SCHOOLS AND 1,929 STUDENT-ATHLETES.


HOSTED 16 COACH CLINICS FOR A TOTAL OF 253 ATTENDEES. THE CLINICS EMPHASIZE EFFECTIVE WAYS TO TEACH SKILLS, SUPPORT TEAM DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY, RISK MANAGEMENT AND VARIOUS OTHER SESSIONS RELATED TO COACHING AND POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.


SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: 111 STUDENT ATHLETES, 91 COACHES, AND 24 TEAMS RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EVENTS. A TOTAL OF $32,533.50 OF SCHOLARSHIPS WERE IN THE FORM OF DISCOUNTED PROGRAM AND CLINIC ENTRY FEES.
