Part 3
ROCKFLOWERS ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2023 CONTINUED TO FOCUS ON BALANCING THE MOST CRITICAL NEEDS FACING WOMEN AND GIRLS WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITIES, WHILST ALSO MAINTAINING A VISION TO HELP THEM CREATE A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE. WE CONTINUED TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY FUNDING TO THOSE PARTNERS FACING DIRE EMERGENCIES TO ENSURE THAT THEY FELT SUPPORTED DURING THE MOST CRITICAL LIFE THREATENING MOMENTS. THE CHALLENGES OF POVERTY, MALNUTRITION, VIOLENCE AND CONFLICT HAVE ONLY INCREASED WITH THE INTENSITY OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND RISING COSTS OF LIVING. FOR THAT REASON ROCKFLOWER HAS CONTINUED TO PROVIDE TARGETED FUNDING FOR THOSE PARTNERS WHO ARE DEEPLY EMBEDDED WITHIN THE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE. MANY OF THE GRASSROOTS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATIONS WERE THE LIFELINE FOR SO MANY FAMILIES LAST YEAR. WE ANTICIPATE THE NEED ONLY BEING GREATER AS MULTIPLE CHALLENGES FACE THOSE LIVING ON THE FARTHEST MARGINS. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO SUPPORT THOSE PARTNERS WHO HAVE BUILT ON OUR YEARS OF SUPPORT AND ARE NOW ABLE TO TRANSITION INTO BUILDING MORE SUSTAINABLE SOURCES OF INCOME WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF NEW APPROACHES TO AGRICULTURE INCLUDING AGROECOLOGY AND MICRO FARMING. WE HAVE ADDED ONE NEW PARTNER IN GHANA WITH A FOCUS ON RICE INTENSIFICATION. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO CROSS POLLINATE IDEAS CONNECTING PARTNERS ACROSS REGIONS AND EXPERTISE. THIS WAS PARTICULARLY SUCCESSFUL WITH A PILOT PROJECT BETWEEN WOMENCHOICE INDUSTRIES IN TANZANIA AND SOFDI IN THE DRC. WE LOOK FORWARD TO FURTHER DEVELOPING OUR "SEED TO CANOPY" FUNDING MODEL IN THE YEARS AHEAD.
