ACCORDING TO THE US ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, THE FOOD IN LANDFILLS IS A SIGNIFICANT SOURCE OF METHANE GAS THAT HAS A POTENT GREENHOUSE GAS WITH 21 TIMES THE GLOBAL WARMING POTENTIAL OF CARBON DIOXIDE. LANDFILLS ACCOUNT FOR MORE THAN 20 PERCENT OF ALL METHANE EMISSIONS. OUR PROGRAM OF ALTERNATIVE USES OF THIS UNMARKETABLE FOOD REDUCES THE GREENHOUSE GAS EFFECTS OF LANDFILLS WHILE FEEDING THESE NEEDY, ABANDONED, AND HUNGRY ANIMALS.
