JUSTICE FOR FAMILIES IS A NATIONAL ALLIANCE OF LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS COMMITTED TO ENDING THE YOUTH INCARCERATION EPIDEMIC

JUSTICE FOR FAMILIES WORKS FOR "JUSTICE REINVESTMENT" - THE REALLOCATION OF GOVERNMENT SPEDNING WASTED ON MASS INCARCERATION, FAILED "TOUGH ON CRIME" JUVENILE JUSTICE POLICIES AND TOWARD INVESTMENT IN FAMILIES, YOUTH OPPORTUNITY, AND LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES. A TRANSFORMED YOUTH JUSTICE SYSTEM REALLOCATES RESOURCES TO FUND CONFLICT-RESOLUTION AND PEACE-BUILDING PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS AS WELL AS POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND SUPERVISON PROGRAMS AS PRIMARY OPTIONS FOR COURT-INVOLVED YOUTH.


JUSTICE FOR FAMILIES WORKS TO CHANGE THE POWER DYNAMIC AT EACH OF THE CRITICAL DECISION-MAKING POINTS ALONG THE SCHOOL-TO-PRISON PIPELINE. THE FAMILY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE, A HIGH IMPACT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND SKILL-BUILDING PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES PEER-TO-PEER SUPPORT, HEALING COACHING, AND INTENSIVE TRAINING FOR GRASSROOTS JUSTICE REFORM ADVOCATES. TO DATE, WE HAVE TRAINED AND ENGAGED OVER 500 FAMILIES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT, ADVOCACY AND OTHER SERVICES TO FAMILIES IMPACTED BY THE JUSTICE SYSTEM.
