THE FOUNDATION FOR BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL HELPS DONORS ENRICH LIVES, SAVE LIVES, AND (SEE SCHEDULE O) TRANSFORM PATIENT CARE THROUGH CHARITABLE GIFTS. EVERY GIFT TO THE FOUNDATION HELPS TRANSFORM PATIENT CARE AT BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL (ONE OF AMERICA'S TOP HOSPITALS) AND OUR AFFILIATES BY FUNDING INNOVATIVE RESEARCH, MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR DOCTORS, NURSES, AND PHARMACISTS, TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT, CARE ESSENTIALS FOR PATIENTS IN NEED AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELLNESS.

CAPITAL:THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED $40 MILLION TO WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY WHICH INCLUDED THE EXPANSION OF INSTITUTE OF HEALTH ON THE MEDICAL SCHOOL CAMPUS, THIS EXPANSION WILL BENEFIT ALL PARTNERS ON THE MEDICAL CAMPUS. AN ADDITIONAL $500K WAS PROVIDED TO BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL WEST COUNTY FOR AN EDUCATIONAL SUITE AND $276K WAS PROVIDED TO BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL FOR A SIMULATION CENTER ENHANCING NURISNG EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL CAPITAL IMPROVMENTS.
RESEARCH:THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED BIOMEDICAL AND CLINICAL TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH TO ENHANCE PATIENT SAFETY, ELEVATE THE STANDARDS OF CARE, IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE, MAKE BREAKTHROUGHS IN TREATMENT/RECOVERY AND WIN THE FIGHT AGAINST DEVASTATING DISEASES. THIS INCLUDED SUPPORT FOR THE BJC INVESTIGATORS PROGRAM, IN WHICH THE OBJECTIVE IS TO PROMOTE HUMAN KNOWLEDGE WITHIN THE FIELDS OF BASIC AND APPLIED MEDICAL SCIENCE WITH A FOCUS ON THE RESEARCHERS AND NOT THE PROJECTS. THESE DISCOVERIES WILL CHANGE HEALTHCARE REGIONALLY, NATIONALLY, AND INTERNATIONALLY. WE DISBURSE RESEARCH FUNDING PRIMARILY TO PHYSICIANS AND RESEARCHERS AFFILIATED WITH BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL, SITEMAN CANCER CENTER AND/OR WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, OR TO FACULTY OF BARNES-JEWISH(SEE SCHEDULE O) GOLDFARB SCHOOL OF NURSING.
EXTERNAL COMMUNITY:THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED COMMUNITY PARTNERS THAT FOCUS ON INCREASING THE OVERALL HEALTH IN OUR REGION. SUPPORT WAS GIVEN TO WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE TO ESTABLISH A PERMANENT ENDOWMENT THAT WILL PROVIDE HEALTHCARE EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO FURTHER MEDICAL EDUCATION
RECRUITMENT, PATIENT SUPPORT, CAPITAL, EDUCATION, NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS, CHAIRHOLDERS, AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT GRANTS FOR VACCINATION CLINICS: THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES FUNDING TO BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL AND WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY TO SUPPORT THE HOSPITAL'S MISSION THROUGH DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING RELATED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT OFFER SUPPLEMENTAL APPROACHES TO CLINIC CARE, ADVANCE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH PRIORITIES, AND ENHANCE THE PATIENT ENVIRONMENT.
