MARY'S REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER'S MISSION AS A CATHOLIC, BENEDICTINE SPONSORED FACILITY IS TO PROMOTE CHRIST'S MINISTRY OF HOLISTIC HEALING FOR ALL HUMAN LIFE WITH SPECIAL CONCERN FOR THE POOR AND POWERLESS.

ST. MARY'S REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER, DBA ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES, IS CREATED AND ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE, RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL, AND SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES. MORE SPECIFICALLY, ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES IS CREATED AND ORGANIZED TO OWN, MAINTAIN, OPERATE AND CONDUCT, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, AND TO ASSIST AND COORDINATE ACTIVITIES OF FACILITIES FOR HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION, CARE FOR THE AGED AND SOCIAL SERVICES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARITABLE WORKS TRADITION OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. IN KEEPING WITH THIS SPECIFIC PURPOSE, ALL WORKS SHALL BE CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARISM OF THE BENEDICTINE SISTERS BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION, A MINNESOTA NONPROFIT CORPORATION. ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES EMPLOYS APPROXIMATELY 685 FULL TIME EQUIVALENTS. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING COMMUNITY BENEFITS: $786,000 IN CHARITY CARE, $5.7 MILLION COSTS IN EXCESS OF MEDICAID PAYMENTS, $88,000 IN COMMUNITY SERVICES, AND $171,000 IN HEALTH PROFESSION EDUCATION.ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES HOSPITAL IS A MODERN ACUTE CARE FACILITY LICENSED FOR 87 BEDS. ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES PROVIDES BOTH PRIMARY AND SELECT SECONDARY PATIENT SERVICES, INCLUDING A 12-BED WOMEN'S UNIT, THREE OPERATING ROOMS, AND FULL IMAGING AND LABORATORY SERVICES. ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES HAS A LEVEL III TRAUMA DESIGNATION, IS A PRIMARY STROKE CENTER HOSPITAL, AND HAS BEEN AWARDED THE GOLD SEAL OF APPROVAL BY THE JOINT COMMISSION FOR DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE. ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S THERAPY CENTER OFFERS PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL, AND SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES TO ALL AGES. THE HOSPITAL PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 5,000 HOSPITAL PATIENT DAYS AND 73,000 OUTPATIENT VISITS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021.ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES PROVIDES MULTI-SPECIALTY AND PRIMARY CARE CLINIC SERVICES TO A WIDE ARRAY OF PATIENTS IN THE COMMUNITIES OF DETROIT LAKES, PARK RAPIDS, MENAHGA, MAHNOMEN, FRAZEE, PELICAN RAPIDS, LAKE PARK, AND WALKER. THE CLINICS HAD OVER 157,000 ENCOUNTERS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021.
ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES HAS A SKILLED NURSING FACILITY CONNECTED TO THE HOSPITAL THAT OFFERS TRANSITIONAL CARE AND LONG-TERM NURSING SERVICES IN A CLOSE-KNIT COMMUNITY. THE SKILLED NURSING FACILITY PROVIDED OVER 31,000 RESIDENT DAYS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021.
ESSENTIA HEALTH ST. MARY'S-DETROIT LAKES' 30 ASSISTED LIVING APARTMENTS OFFER AROUND-THE-CLOCK CARE WHILE THE 58 SENIOR HOUSING APARTMENTS PROVIDE A FULL SPECTRUM OF SENIOR LIVING OPPORTUNITIES. THE SECURE APARTMENTS PROVIDE A MODERN, COMFORTABLE LIVING ENVIRONMENT SUPPORTED BY SERVICES & AMENITIES TO OFFER SENIORS CHOICES TO ENHANCE THEIR HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE.
