AIRVENTURE - THE LARGEST AVIATION EVENT OF ITS KIND IS HELD EACH YEAR IN LATE JULY. AIRVENTURE EDUCATES THOSE ATTENDING ON AVIATION AND AIRCRAFT THROUGH EXHIBITS, DEMONSTRATION AIRSHOWS, EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS, AND INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS. DUE TO THE 2020 COVID-19 PANDEMIC, AIRVENTURE WAS CANCELLED. ALTHOUGH THE SHOW WAS CANCELLED, COSTS WERE STILL INCURRED IN PLANNING FOR THE EVENT. AIRVENTURE IS EXPECTED TO RESUME IN FY22 AND WILL CONTINUE IN FUTURE YEARS.
MEMBERSHIP AND PUBLICATIONS - "SPORT AVIATION" IS A MONTHLY PUBLICATION ISSUED TO MEMBERS WITH A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION ON AVIATION. OTHER VARIOUS PRINTED AND DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS ARE PRODUCED ON A PERIODIC BASIS TO INFORM AND EDUCATE MEMBERS OR AIRVENTURE ATTENDEES. INCLUDES COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION TO ASSIST WITH TECHNICAL QUESTIONS ON AVIATION MATTERS AND PROMOTING MEMBERSHIP IN THE ORGANIZATION.
EAA SUPPORTS OVER 900 LOCAL DESIGNATED CHAPTERS. THESE CHAPTERS DO NO MEET THE DEFINITION OF "CHAPTERS" WITHIN THE MEANING PROVIDED BY THE FORM 990 INSTRUCTIONS. THESE SO-CALLED CHAPTERS ARE INDIVIDUAL STAND-ALONE ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE ABOUT PEOPLE, BRINGING TOGETHER INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT AVIATION AS WELL AS SHARING THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGE. CHAPTER MEMBERS ARE INVOLVED IN A VARIETY OF SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING YOUNG EAGLES RALLIES, FLY-INS, BUILDING SEMINARS, AND MORE, TO BUILD AWARENESS IN THE COMMUNITY. CHAPTERS ARE INSTRUMENTAL IN ADMINISTERING THE RAY AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.
