TO RECEIVE AND ADMINISTER FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE MISSION OF MCLAREN NORTHERN MICHIGAN AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS THAT ENHANCE THE WELL-BEING OF THE COMMUNITY.

MCLAREN NORTHERN MICHIGAN HAS EMBARKED ON AN EXCITING JOURNEY TO BUILD THE FUTURE OF HEALTH CARE FOR OUR NORTHERN MICHIGAN COMMUNITY. OUR MULTI-PHASED PROJECT WILL INVOLVE CONSTRUCTING A NEW WING ON OUR PETOSKEY CAMPUS, AS WELL AS RENOVATING SELECT AREAS OF THE EXISTING FACILITY. THE NEW WING WILL CONSIST OF 170,000 SQ. FT OF NEW SPACE INCLUDING 92 NEW PRIVATE PATIENT ROOMS, 12 OBSERVATION BEDS AND STATE-OF-THE-ART OPERATING ROOMS.
'INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM SERVICES:NURSE INTERN PROGRAM WHERE STUDENTS COME FROM COLLEGES ACROSS THE STATE AND ARE TRAINED UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A REGISTERED NURSE PROVIDING VALUABLE ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCES FOR INTERNS WHILE SUPPORTING THE CURRENT NURSING STAFF.RESIDENCY PROGRAM THAT DONORS HELPED LAUNCH A FAMILY MEDICINE RURAL TRAINING TRACK AT MCLAREN NORTHERN MICHIGAN. THE FIRST TWO RESIDENTS ARRIVED ON CAMPUS IN 2023 AND PLANS ARE UNDERWAY TO FURTHER EXPAND RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITIES.IN ADDITION TO ADVANCING CARE, NEW TECHNOLOGY OFTEN HELPS RECRUIT PHYSICIANS. THE FOUNDATION HAS SUPPORTED MAJOR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT INVESTMENTS AT MCLAREN NORTHERN MICHIGAN WHICH INCLUDE EPIQ ELITE DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND SYSTEM, MRI VENTILATOR, FETAL MONITORS, BONE DENSITY MACHINE, ORTHOPEDIC AND CARDIOTHORACIC SURGERY EQUIPMENT, MAKO SURGICAL ROBOT, STEREOTACTIC TABLE, AND A SURGICAL MICROSCOPE FOR NEUROSCIENCES.
THE VITALCARE HOSPICE PROGRAM PROVIDES COMPASSIONATE, PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS IN THE HOME, NURSING CARE FACILITIES, OR A HOSPICE HOUSE. SERVICES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, SKILLED NURSING CARE, PHYSICAL THERAPY, SPEECH THERAPY, AID SERVICES, AND TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE PHYSICAL, SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SPIRITUAL NEEDS. SERVICE AREAS INCLUDE HOSPICE OF SUNRISE SHORES (ALPENA AREA), HOSPICE OF THE STRAITS (CHEBOYGAN AREA), HOSPICE OF LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY (PETOSKEY AREA), AND TWO HOSPICE HOUSES, HILAND COTTAGE (PETOSKEY) AND HOSPICE HOUSE (CHEBOYGAN).
RENOVATIONS ON THE CHEBOYGAN CAMPUS TO CREATE THE JUSTIN A. BORRA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER WERE MADE POSSIBLE BY OVER 350 DONORS COMMITTING MORE THAN $6.5 MILLION. THE 18-BED INPATIENT UNIT WAS COMPLETED AND OPENED IN LATE SEPTEMBER 2023.
