THE INTEGRATED SALES AND MARKETING PLAN INCLUDES DETAILED INITIATIVES, ALL ALIGNED TO PROMOTE THE CONVENTION CENTER SPECIFICALLY AND DESTINATION MINNEAPOLIS OVERALL AND TO PROMOTE THE MINNEAPOLIS CONVENTION CENTER AS A VENUE FOR TRADE SHOWS AND CONVENTIONS AND TO MARKET MINNEAPOLIS AS A CONVENTION SITE AND DESIRABLE TOURIST DESTINATION. DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY EXPERIENCED A SIGNIFICANT DECLINE THE NUMBER OF EVENTS AT THE CONVENTION CENTER. MANY OF THE CANCELLED EVENTS HAVE BEEN RE-BOOKED FOR FUTURE YEARS. INDUSTRY RECOVERY IS ESTIMATED TO LAST SEVERAL YEARS. DESPITE THESE CHALLENGES, MEET MINNEAPOLIS WAS ABLE TO END THE 2020 AND 2021 FISCAL YEAR WITH AN INCREASE IN NET ASSETS WHICH WILL BE DEPLOYED TO ASSIST IN THE RECOVERY.
