SPARK (SUPPORTING PARTNERSHIPS TO ASSURE READY KIDS) IS A FAMILY-FOCUSED, HOME VISITING PROGRAM THAT HELPS PRESCHOOLERS IN TARGETED NEIGHBORHOODS GET READY FOR KINDERGARTEN AND EMPOWER PARENTS TO BECOME ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THEIR CHILD'S EDUCATION. WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING WITH FAMILIES IN CLEVELAND HEIGHTS-UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, EAST CLEVELAND, MAPLE HEIGHTS, WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS AND FOUR NEIGHBORHOODS IN THE CITY OF CLEVELAND THAT INCLUDE BROADWAY/SLAVIC VILLAGE, CENTRAL, ST. CLAIR/SUPERIOR AND THE NEAR WEST SIDE.
FAMILY SCHOOL CONNECTION PROVIDES SCHOOL-BASED FAMILY LITERACY AND SUPPORT SERVICES DESIGNED TO PROMOTE SCHOOL SUCCESS AND PARENTAL ENGAGEMENT. WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING IN AND WITH THE CLEVELAND METROPOLITAN SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CLEVELAND HEIGHTS-UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS SCHOOL DISTRICT.
THROUGH THE END OF DECEMBER 2020, THE ORGANIZATION OPERATED TWO FACILITIES FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD, FAMILY EDUCATION, ENRICHMENT AND RELATED PURPOSES IN SHAKER HEIGHTS, OHIO (SHAKER FAMILY CENTER BUILDING) AND CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OHIO (COVENTRY P.E.A.C.E. CAMPUS). THIS INCLUDED OPERATING FAMILY PROGRAMS FOR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS AND THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN USING FACILITIES OWNED BY THE CITY OF SHAKER HEIGHTS AND THE CLEVELAND HEIGHTS - UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS PUBLIC LIBRARY. AS PER THE ORGANIZATION'S STRATEGIC PLAN TO DEEPEN IMPACT, GROW PROGRAMS, EXPAND GEOGRAPHIC REACH AND ENSURE FINANCIAL STABILITY, THE ORGANIZATION RELOCATED ITS CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS TO THE SHAKER WEST PROFESSIONAL BUILDING, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2021. THIS REQUIRED THE ORGANIZATION TO CLOSE ITS OFFICES AND PLAYROOMS AT COVENTRY P.E.A.C.E. CAMPUS (EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2020) AND AT THE SHAKER FAMILY CENTER (EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 31, 2020). DUE TO THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK, HOWEVER, THE ORGANIZATION HAD TO PREMATURELY CLOSE THE PLAYROOMS AT BOTH FACILITIES IN MARCH 2020.
