TO PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH STRONG AND ENDURING RELATIONSHIPS THAT CHANGE THEIR LIVES FOREVER.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

SITE BASED PROGRAMS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR SITE BASED SPECIALISTS COORDINATE AND SUPERVISE THE SITE-BASED PROGRAM, A SCHOOL BASED INITIATIVE THAT PAIRS HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN DURING AFTER SCHOOL HOURS. HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE, GAMES, SNACKS AND IMPORTANT SOCIAL TIMES TO MEET WITH THEIR MENTOR IS SUPERVISED THROUGHOUT SUMMIT, MEDINA AND STARK COUNTIES. APPROXIMATELY 23 STUDENTS WERE SERVED AT 2 SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT 2021.


COMMUNITY MATCHES YOUTH WITH A VOLUNTEER A LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE WHO ARE WILLING TO BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD. THESE VOLUNTEERS SPEND THE AMOUNT OF TIME REQUIRED TO FORM AND MAINTAIN A MENTORING RELATIONSHIP WITH CHILDREN 6-18. THE VOLUNTEERS ACT AS ROLE MODELS, MENTORS AND FRIENDS TO CHILDREN WITH THE GOAL OF INCREASING THEIR SELF CONFIDENCE AS WELL AS BEING A SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR THEM. THE AGENCY HAD APPROXIMATELY 91 KIDS MATCHED WITH VOLUNTEERS AT DEC 31, 2021.
