CORE COMPETENCIES: THE CENTER FOR COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS PROVIDES VARIOUS SUPPORT SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT NORTHEAST OHIO. COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS PROVIDES STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP TO IMPROVE TARGETED HEALTH, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CONDITIONS. COMMUNITY SOLUTION'S MAJOR SOURCES OF REVENUES ARE GRANTS FROM FOUNDATIONS, CONTRACTS WITH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ENTITIES AND CONTRIBUTIONS.IN 2021, COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS PUBLISHED NEW AND ORIGINAL CONTENT EVERY WEEK; A TOTAL OF 161 PUBLICATIONS. THIS INCLUDED 18 RESEARCH REPORTS, AND 143 BLOGS AND ISSUE BRIEFS ON TOPICS SUCH AS OHIO'S TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR NEEDY FAMILIES, MEDICAID, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, RACISM AS A PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS, MATERNAL AND INFANT HEALTH, ANTI-HUNGER PROGRAMS, CHILD WELFARE, AND SERVICES FOR OLDER ADULTS. IN ADDITION, COMMUNITY SOLUTION'S 74 EVENTS REACHED OVER 4,300 PEOPLE. COMMUNITY SOLUTION'S STAFF MADE OVER 454 APPEARANCES IN LOCAL AND REGIONAL MEDIA AS WELL IN NATIONAL MEDIA LIKE THE WASHINGTON POST, USA TODAY, NBC NEWS, AND ESSENCE MAGAZINE. THIS COVERAGE DREW NATIONWIDE ATTENTION TO OUR WORK. THEIR STAFF HELD OVER 100 MEETINGS WITH LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL POLICY MAKERS, AND THEY PROVIDED TESTIMONY BEFORE SEVERAL STATE AND LOCAL LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEES.COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS PUBLISHED NEIGHBORHOOD FACT SHEETS ON THE CITY OF CLEVELAND'S 34 NEIGHBORHOODS AND IT'S 15 CITY COUNCIL WARDS. THESE DATA RICH PROFILES ARE USED BY POLICY MAKERS, NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS AND ORGANIZATIONS, AND RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF CLEVELAND. THEY PROVIDED CONSULTING SERVICES FOR 25 CLIENTS. IN ONE FAST-PACED PROJECT THEY CREATED DEMOGRAPHIC CONCENTRATION MAPS TO IDENTIFY WHERE COVID-19 VACCINE OUTREACH EFFORTS SHOULD BE FOCUSED. OVER 158,000 NEW USERS VISITED COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS WEBSITE (WWW.COMMUNITYSOLUTIONS.COM), OVER 5,770 INDIVIDUALS, PRIMARILY POLICY MAKERS, PHILANTHROPISTS, THE MEDIA, AND HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE PROFESSIONALS, SUBSCRIBE TO COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS E-NEWSLETTER (FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW). COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS ALSO HAS THOUSANDS OF FOLLOWERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS WHICH EXTENDS ITS REACH EVEN FURTHER. AT THE 2021 VIRTUAL CELEBRATION OF HUMAN SERVICES, COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS AWARDED THE 2021 COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS AWARD FOR PUBLIC SERVICE IN HONOR OF JOHN BEGALA TO GOVERNOR MIKE DEWINE AND OHIO MEDICAID DIRECTOR MAUREEN CORCORAN. THE 2021 ANISFIELD-WOLF AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO REFUGEE RESPONSE. FIVE GREATER CLEVELANDERS WERE PRESENTED WITH THE 2021 MOST TREASURED VOLUNTEER AWARDS. BY PROVIDING TIMELY, ACCURATE INFORMATION TO OUR COMMUNITY'S POLICYMAKERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS, THE ORGANIZATION LIVED UP TO ITS MISSION OF IMPROVING HEALTH, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CONDITIONS THROUGH NONPARTISAN RESEARCH, POLICY ANALYSIS, COMMUNICATIONS AND ADVOCACY.
