THE HEALTHY HARVEST FOOD BANK PROVIDES SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD TO OVER 7,600 PEOPLE MONTHLY IN OUR SIX-COUNTY TERRITORY OF LANCASTER, NORTHUMBERLAND, RICHMOND, WESTMORELAND, MIDDLESEX AND ESSEX. HHFB CURRENTLY DISTRIBUTES ALMOST 2.5 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD ANNUALLY TO 30 PANTRIES AND MEAL SITES. WE CURRENTLY OFFER THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS TO THOSE IN NEED IN OUR REGION: -CORE DISTRIBUTION CONSISTS OF DELIVERING FOOD (40% PRODUCE, 40% NON- PERISHABLE, 10% MEAT AND 10% BAKERY/DAIRY FOOD ITEMS) TO OUR PARTNER PANTRIES. -BACKPACK BUDDIES (WEEKEND MEALS) TO OVER 500 STUDENTS IN NEED. -SENIOR PROGRAM PROVIDES OVER 300 SENIORS 60 AND ABOVE AT 125% OF THE POVERTY LEVEL A HEALTHY FOOD SUPPLEMENT EACH MONTH. -THE AGRICULTURAL PROGRAM IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL FARMERS TO ASSURE ACCESS TO PRODUCE FIELDS FOR GLEANING WHICH ENABLES US TO PROVIDE EACH CLIENT A MINIMUM OF 40% FRESH PRODUCE EACH MONTH. IN THE LAST FISCAL YEAR, WE DISTRIBUTED OVER 425,000 POUNDS OF FRESH PRODUCE. FRESH PRODUCE IN EXCESS OF WHAT WE DISTRIBUTE LOCALLY IS THEN DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT CENTRAL AND EASTERN VIRGINIA.
