PENGUIN PROJECT - A UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL AND THERAPEUTIC THEATRE EXPERIENCE FOR CHILDREN WITH SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND PHYSICAL CHALLENGES. EACH CHILD IS MENTORED WITH ANOTHER AGE APPROPRIATE PEER MENTOR. TOGETHER THEY REHEARSE AND PERFORM A THEATRE PRODUCTION WHICH IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. THESE CHILDREN AND MENTORS EXPERIENCE A SAFE AND REWARDING HAVEN IN WHICH THEY EXPLORE AND CHALLENGE THEMSELVES TO DISCOVER THER TALENTS. DUE TO COVID-19 & SOCIAL DISTANCING MANDATES THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED AND WILL RESUME ONCE THOSE RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED.
SUMMER CAMPS AND THEATRE CLASSES ARE CONDUCTED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR CHILDREN AGES 4 THROUGH 18. IN THESE CLASSES STUDENTS LEARN MUSIC, CHOREOGRAPHY, SCENE STRUCTURE, THEATRE ETIQUETTE, AND TEAMWORK. THE STUDENTS GAIN SELF CONFIDENCE WHILE REHERSING AND PARTICIPATING IN A MUSICAL PRODUCTION.
