COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: 2040 PFH BRINGS DIVERSE STAKEHOLDERS TOGETHER TO ENCOURAGE COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIP IN THE SURROUNDING COMMUNTIES. 2040 PFH PARTNERS WITH CCTSI TO PROVIDE A COMMUNITY LIAISON TO HELP PEOPLE BECOME ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN ADVANCING HEALTH AND HEALTH CARE ACCESS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.
TRAINING AND EDUCATION: 2040 PFH PLAYS A ROLE IN TRAINING AND EDUCATION ON COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND CBPR. THE VARIOUS WAYS WE DO SO INCLUDE FACILITATING COMMUNITY IMMERSION PROGRAMS FOR CU FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENTS AND FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS INVOLVED IN MENTORED SCHOLARLY ACTIVIES (MSA PROJECTS). MEDICAL STUDENTS HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN ACTIVE CBPR PROJECTS: COMMUNITY AND STUDENTS AGAINST HEALTHCARE RACISM (CSTAHR), MATERNAL HEALTH,TEEN OBESITY AND REFUGEE HEALTH. CONNECT 2 COMMUNITIES USES A CBPR MODEL WHICH ENSURE EXPERTISE FROM THE COMMUNITY IS VALUED EQUALLY AND THAT COMMUNITY MEMBERS INCLUDE IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT.
RESEARCH AND PROGRAMS: 2040 IS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN DEVELOPING AND EXECUTING A NUMBER OF COMMUNITY BASED PROJECTS TO IMPROVE HEALTH THRU COMMUNITY TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH AND BOOT CAMP TRANSLATION INCLUDING DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY, SLEEP APNEA, AND HPV. 2040PFH HAS ALSO PARTNERED WITH UC ANSCHUTZ TO CREATE OPEN LEARNING MATERIALSREGARDING BIG DATA AND BIG DATA METHODS. 2040PFH ALSO WORKED WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO CREATE COMMUNITIES OF SOLUTION WITH MEB (MENTAL,EMOTIONAL, AND BEHAVIORAL)HEALTH.
