MOPA HAS APPROXIMATELY 250 MEMBERS. ORGANIZATION HELD PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS FOR ITS MEMBERS, AND PROVIDES REGULAR UPDATES ON REGULATIONS AND NEW RESEARCH. NORMAL OPERATIONS INCLUDE FREE WORKSHOPS FOR THE PUBLIC REGARDING HOW TO PROTECT AND IMPROVE MENTAL HEALTH, AND HOW TO ACCESS MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES WHEN NEEDED. THESE FUNCTIONS WERE SOMEWHAT CURTAILED BY THE PANDEMIC PRECAUTIONS. CONTINUED OPERATION OF A REFERRAL SERVICE AND A LISTSERV THAT ALLOWS REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS FOR BEST PRACTICES. MAINTAINS COMMUNICATIONS WITH ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES TO GIVE PROFESSIONAL OPINION ON ANY PROSPECTIVE LEGISLATION.
