EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT - STAFF TIME AND SUPPLIES TO SUPPORT OUTREACH AND EDUCATION ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES RELATED TO WMEAC'S AREAS OF FOCUS. THE OUTREACH AND EDUCATION ARE ACHIEVED BY IN-PERSON TRAINING AND PEER TO PEER INFLUENCING TOWARD THE GOAL OF IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENT.
WATER PROTECTION - WMEAC INVOLVES CITIZENS IN ACTION TO PROTECT OUR WATER RESOURCES. THIS IS DONE BY THE TEACH FOR THE WATERSHED PROGRAM, ADOPT A STREAM PROGRAM, AND ENGAGING BUSINESSES, PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AND YOUTH GROUPS ALONG WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
CLIMATE RESILIENCY - A PROGRAM AREA WHICH ASSISTS AND EVALUATES THE COMMUNITY'S ABILITY TO RESPOND TO CHANGES IN THE CLIMATE THAT AFFECT OUR DAILY LIVES. WMEAC CLIMATE RESILIENCY PROGRAMS INCLUDE RECYCLING PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE AREA, GRANTS FOR DUNES PROTECTION AND OTHER COOPERATIVE EFFORTS TO MITIGATE THE AFFECT OF CLIMATE CHANGE THROUGHOUT WEST MICHIGAN.
