TO CULTURALLY ENRICH THE COMMUNITIES OF NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON THROUGH MUSIC PERFORMANCE, OUTREACH AND EDUCATION

FOR OVER 10 YEARS THE WENATCHEE VALLEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA HAS ACCOMPANIED THE PRESENTATION OF THE NUTCRACKER DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON. EACH YEAR THIS PROGRAM ENTERTAINS AND ENRICHS THE LIVES OF THOUSANDS OF WENATCHEE AREA RESIDENTS WITH MUSIC AND DANCE. IN 2021 FULL, IN-PERSON CONCERTS WERE ABLE TO RESUME ONCE AGAIN AND THE WVSO WAS ABLE TO PRESENT THREE LIVE SHOWINGS OF THE HOLIDAY CLASSIC.
DURING THE FISCAL YEAR THE ORCHESTRA WAS ABLE TO BRING 5 CONCERTS TO LIFE FOR THE PUBLIC- DIAMONDS, FIRE & BLOOD, PATHOS SATIRE HURDY GURDY AND HANDLES MESSIAH PARTS I AND II. DURING THE 2021-2022 CONCERT SEASON IN-PERSON EVENTS WERE ABLE TO RESUME THOUGH THE WVSO HAS STILL MAINTED A LIVESTREAM SERVICE FOR ATTENDEES WHO PREFER TO ENJOY MUSIC FROM HOME. OVER 1200 IN-PERSON TICKETS WERE SOLD FOR THESE PERFORMANCES WHILE SEVERAL HUNDRED COMMUNITY MEMBERS ENJOYED THE PERFORMANCES FROM HOME.
IN ADDITION TO PRESENTING MUSIC TO THE COMMUNITY THE WVSO ALSO HELPS TO EDUCATE YOUTH IN THE COMMUNITY AND TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO FOSTER A LOVE OF MUSIC. THE WENATCHEE VALLEY YOUTH ORCHESTRA HAS TWO LEVELS OF INVOLVEMENT FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS AND FEATURES THREE SESSIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH WEEKLY REHEARSALS AND ONE CONCERT PER SESSION.
