THE WISTAR INSTITUTE TAKES A COLLABORATIVE, TEAM APPROACH TO PURSUING NEW BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH DISCOVERIES THAT CAN BE TRANSLATED INTO NEXT-GENERATION THERAPEUTICS AND DIAGNOSTICS THROUGH MEANINGFUL PARTNERSHIPS. THE INSTITUTE'S RESEARCH ENTERPRISE IS ORGANIZED INTO TWO MAIN CENTERS: THE WISTAR INSTITUTE CANCER CENTER, WHICH HAS HELD THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE (NCI)-DESIGNATION SINCE 1972, AND THE VACCINE & IMMUNOTHERAPY CENTER. WISTAR SCIENTISTS BENEFIT FROM THE TECHNOLOGICAL SUPPORT AND STATE-OF-THE-ART INSTRUMENTATION PROVIDED BY THE INSTITUTE'S SHARED RESOURCES.
