PHILADELPHIA LEGAL ASSISTANCE CENTER (PLA) PROVIDES FREE CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES TO LOW INCOME PHILADELPHIANS PRIMARILY IN THE SUBSTANTIVE AREAS OF FAMILY LAW, PUBLIC BENEFITS, CONSUMER/HOUSING AND HOME OWNERSHIP. PLA ALSO PROVIDES ADVICE AND COUNSEL TO INDIVIDUALS IN THE RANGE OF CIVIL MATTERS WHERE IT DOES NOT PROVIDE DIRECT REPRESENTATION. IN ADDITION, PLA RECEIVES LEGAL SERVICES CORPORATION FUNDING TO PROVIDE REPRESENTATION TO FARMWORKERS IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA IN EMPLOYMENT AND HOUSING MATTERS.
