THE MISSION OF THE CAPE AND ISLANDS VETERANS OUTREACH CENTER IS TO PROVIDE VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH A COMPREHENSIVE MENU OF THE ESSENTIAL, LIFE-ALTERING AND LIFE-SUSTAINING SERVICES THAT EMPOWER THEM TO ACHIEVE A LASTING REINTEGRATION INTO THE FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES FOR WHICH THEY HAVE SACRIFICED.

IN FISCAL 2022, THE CAPE AND ISLANDS VETERANS OUTREACH CENTER PROVIDED 1022 COUNSELING SESSIONS, CIVOC STAFF PROVIDED REFERRAL, EDUCATION, AND TECHNOLOGICAL ASSISTANCE TO 659 WALK-IN VETERAN CLIENTS. THE FOOD PANTRY SERVED A COMPLETE AND HEALTHY MENU ON A WEEKLY BASIS TO 1,717 VETERAN FAMILIES, WITH MORE THAN 3,500 TOTAL PEOPLE FED. SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES PROGRAM PROVIDED 140,649 IN FIRST MONTH & SECURITY DEPOSITS OR RENTAL ARREARS TO 55 INDIVIDUALS & 15 FAMILIES WHO WERE EITHER HOMELESS OR IN DANGER OF HOMELESSNESS, PROVIDED CASE MANAGEMENT, AS WELL AS ALL OUR OTHER SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 55 HOMELESS VETERANS, AND MADE OVER 100,000 CONTACTS IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH OUR OUTREACH EFFORT. ADDITIONALLY IN EARLY JUNE, 2022 CIVOC LAUNCHED A NEW VETERANS TRANSPORTATION SERVICE TO VETERANS WITH A TRUE NEED AND NO ABILITY TO DRIVE TO CRITICAL APPOINTMENTS SUCH AS MEDICAL CARE APPOINTMENTS.
