THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF CENTRAL APPALACHIA (BGCCA) IS A FULL-TIME EDUCATIONAL SUPPLEMENT AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR BUCHANAN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. BGCCA PROVIDES ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE, ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMING, TUTORING, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, A HOT MEAL, AND TRANSPORTATION HOME FOR CHILDREN AT RIVERVIEW, HURLEY, TWIN VALLEY AND COUNCIL ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOLS, AND THE BUCHANAN COUNTY CAREER, TECHNOLOGY, AND HIGHER LEARNING CENTER. BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF CENTRAL APPALACHIA PROVIDES STEM PROGRAMMING SUCH AS LEGO ROBOTICS, MATE UNDERWATER ROBOTICS, ROBOT DRONE LEAGUE, CAD AND 3-D PRINTING, LASER ETCHING, ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING, CODING, COMPUTER PROGRAMMING, POWER HOUR, PROJECT LEARN, TRIPLE PLAY, AND INTERMURAL SPORTS. BGCCA IS ALSO THE COMMUNITY PARTNER FOR 21ST CENTURY PROGRAMS, AND FUNDS THE SUMMER STEM ACADEMY AT BUCHANAN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND SEVERAL COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS IN THE CENTRAL APPALACHIAN REGION.
