Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2021, YAMBA MALAWI IMPACTED THE LIVES OF OVER 55,000 CHILDREN AND THEIR COMMUNITIES BY EMPOWERING EIGHT CBO PARTNERS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF THE SAFETY NET SERVICES THEY PROVIDE TO VULNERABLE CHILDREN, AND BY LAUNCHED 876 HOUSEHOLDS ON A PATHWAY OUT OF EXTREME POVERTY. AT THE COMMUNITY LEVEL, THIS RESULTED IN NUTRITIOUS SCHOOL MEALS FOR THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AND 76 SECONDARY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS. WE PROVIDED COMMUNITY-BASED TRAININGS IN 2021 IN TOPICS LIKE CHILD PROTECTION, NUTRITION, AND WASH NEEDS TO CAREGIVERS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS. THESE TRAININGS EMPOWER CAREGIVERS AND LEADERS TO PROVIDE BETTER CARE TO CHILDREN, AND EMPOWER COMMUNITY LEADERS TO ADVOCATE FOR BETTER POLICIES AND SERVICES FOR CHILDREN IN THE FUTURE. AT THE HOUSEHOLD LEVEL, WE PARTNERED WITH 754 HOUSEHOLDS CARING FOR OVER 2,500 VULNERABLE CHILDREN, AND CONDUCTED TRAINING SESSIONS AND 2,952 HOME VISITS FOR THESE CAREGIVERS. AS A RESULT OF THEIR NEW BUSINESSES, THESE HOUSEHOLDS SAW AN AVERAGE 38% INCREASE IN THEIR ANNUAL INCOME. AS WELL AS EARNING MORE, THESE CAREGIVERS PARTICIPATED IN 87 VILLAGE SAVINGS & LOAN GROUPS AS A RESULT OF THE PROGRAM IN 2021, PROVIDING TRANSFORMATIONAL ACCESS TO SAVINGS AND TRAINING IN FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR THE FIRST TIME.
