SEE SCHEDULE OVALOR CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL IS A CHRISTIAN FAITH COMMUNITY THAT PROVIDES AN INDEPENDENT, COLLEGE-PREPARATORY SCHOOL LOCATED IN HIGHLANDS RANCH, COLORADO. VALOR ACCOMPLISHES ITS MISSION PRIMARILY BY BRINGING TOGETHER GROUPS OF INDIVIDUALS (STAFF, STUDENTS AND VOLUNTEERS) TO ENGAGE IN BIBLE-CENTERED DEVOTIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL WORSHIP ACTIVITIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH VALOR'S CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. THE CENTRAL EXPRESSION OF COMMUNAL WORSHIP AT VALOR IS THE WEDNESDAY WEEKLY CHAPEL SERVICE FOR THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. THE ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES DESCRIBED BELOW ALL BUILD UPON AND EXTEND THIS WORSHIP EXPERIENCE. VALOR OPENED ITS DOORS IN THE FALL OF 2007 AND HAS SINCE GROWN FROM 155 TO OVER 1,200 STUDENTS SERVING GRADES 9TH - 12TH. THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR MARKED THE ORGANIZATION'S 14TH YEAR OF SCHOOLING. AS IT ENTERS ITS SECOND DECADE, THE SCHOOL REMAINS COMMITTED TO ITS CORE VALUES TO HONOR CHRIST IN EVERYTHING IT DOES, TO CONDUCT PLANNING AND MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON WHAT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF STUDENTS AND TO PARTNER WITH PARENTS AS THE PRIMARY INFLUENCERS OF THEIR CHILDREN'S LIVES. VALOR IS FULLY ACCREDITED WITH BOTH COGNIA AND THE ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL (ACSI) IN WHICH IT MAINTAINS EXEMPLARY STATUS. IN ADDITION, VALOR IS ALSO A CHARTER MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL ON EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS AND ACCOUNTABILITY (CESA) AND RECEIVED THE PRESTIGIOUS 2015 NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOLS AWARD BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, REPRESENTING ONE OF ONLY THREE PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY TO RECEIVE THE AWARD THAT YEAR. VALOR'S COURSES MEET THE VERY BEST EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS AND ARE TAUGHT IN A MANNER TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR FUTURE ACADEMIC CHALLENGE WITHOUT JEOPARDIZING OR DILUTING THE IMPORTANCE OF A CHRISTIAN WORLD VIEW. OVER 65% OF VALOR'S FACULTY HAVE ADVANCED DEGREES, WITH 9 INDIVIDUALS HOLDING DOCTORATES. ACADEMICS:VALOR PROVIDES AN ACADEMICALLY RIGOROUS PROGRAM, GROUNDED IN BIBLICAL TRUTH, THAT PREPARES STUDENTS FOR THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND LEADERSHIP IN COLLEGE AND BEYOND. VALOR OFFERS 17 DUAL COLLEGE CREDIT COURSES AND 20 ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) COURSES. OF THE 353 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN AP COURSES, VALOR HAD A TOTAL OF 114 AP SCHOLARS AND AN AP COURSE PASS RATE OF 85%.IN 2020-21, VALOR HAD 13 STUDENTS ELIGIBLE FOR NATIONAL MERIT DISTINCTION. THE AVERAGE ACT SCORE FOR THE CLASS OF 2021 WAS 25.2 WITH STUDENTS IN THE TOP HALF SCORING AN AVERAGE OF 29.5. TO DATE VALOR HAS GRADUATED 12 CLASSES WITH OVER 88% OF GRADUATES IN 2021 MATRICULATING TO FOUR-YEAR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. THE CLASS OF 2021 EARNED OVER $6.8 MILLION IN ACADEMIC, ARTISTIC AND ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS FOR THEIR FRESHMAN YEAR. IN 2020-21, THE AVERAGE GPA FOR THE STUDENT BODY WAS 3.4. FOR THE CLASS OF 2021, THE TOP 10% OF STUDENTS ACHIEVED GPAS BETWEEN 4.2 AND 4.5. VALOR'S ENDORSEMENT PROGRAMS IN STEM AND HUMANITIES OFFER A CROSS-DISCIPLINE COURSE OF STUDY THAT ENABLES SELECT STUDENTS TO ORGANIZE THEIR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS AROUND THEIR CORE INTERESTS. THERE WERE CURRENTLY 59 STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN A HUMANITIES ENDORSEMENT AND 110 PARTICIPATING IN A STEM ENDORSEMENT. VALOR STUDENTS COVER A WIDE SPECTRUM OF LEARNING STYLES, INCLUDING STUDENTS WHO ARE NEURAL ATYPICAL. AS A RESULT, VALOR TAKES ACADEMIC SUPPORT VERY SERIOUSLY TO MAXIMIZE LEARNING AND SUCCESS FOR ALL STUDENTS. FORMAL ACADEMIC ACCOMMODATIONS ARE OFFERED TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE A DIAGNOSED LEARNING DIFFICULTY. IN ADDITION, MANY OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES ARE OFFERED SUCH AS INDIVIDUAL TUTORING, ACADEMIC COACHING AND MANAGEMENT, PEER TUTORING, STANDARDIZED TEST PREP, ONLINE COURSES AND SUMMER SCHOOL. ARTS+MEDIA:VALOR'S ARTS+MEDIA DEPARTMENT IS PASSIONATE ABOUT RECLAIMING THE ARTS FOR CHRIST AND EQUIPPING STUDENTS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND INSPIRATION REQUIRED TO EXPRESS THE CHRISTIAN HEART IN A RELEVANT, ARTISTIC AND AUTHENTIC MANNER. THE FACULTY IS ACTIVELY DOING, AS WELL AS TEACHING, THEIR RESPECTIVE DISCIPLINES, AND IS ABLE, THEREFORE, TO COMBINE THEORY WITH PROFESSIONAL VIABILITY, KNOWLEDGE WITH INSPIRATION. THE VALOR CONSERVATORY FOR THE ARTS IS AN ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM THAT COMBINES INDIVIDUALIZED, EXCEPTIONAL ARTS TRAINING WITH CHRIST-CENTERED MENTORSHIP, OFFERING STUDENTS COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES FOR COLLEGE, CAREER AND LIFE PURSUITS. SEVENTEEN CUSTOMIZED COURSE MAJORS ALLOW STUDENTS TO GO DEEP IN THEIR AREAS OF PASSION, OFFERING CHOREOGRAPHED EXPERIENCES AND PRIVATE LESSONS TO HELP STUDENTS GROW AND CREATE AT AN ADVANCED LEVEL. OVER 125 STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN THE CONSERVATORY EXPERIENCE AND THE PROGRAM CONTINUES TO GROW IN POPULARITY AND DEPTH OF ARTISTIC TALENT. ATHLETICS:VALOR ATHLETICS FOCUSES ON FOUR CORE VALUES: STRENGTHENING ATHLETES' FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST; DEVELOPING EXCELLENCE IN CHRISTIAN CHARACTER BASED ON THE LIFE AND TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST; INSTILLING GREAT WORK HABITS; AND TEACHING, STRESSING, AND MONITORING THE PRIMACY OF ACADEMICS. VALOR EMPLOYS FULL-TIME COACHES, OFFERS A COLLEGE-STYLED INDIVIDUALIZED STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM, PROVIDES SPORTS MEDICINE PROFESSIONALS TO AID IN RECOVERY AND INJURY PREVENTION PLUS OFFER SOME OF THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF TRAINING IN THE STATE OF COLORADO. VALOR IS EQUALLY COMMITTED TO RAISING UP YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN OF CHRISTIAN CHARACTER WHO UNDERSTAND GODLY WORSHIP THROUGH COMPETITIVE SPORTS. VALOR STUDENTS HAVE LEARNED TO LOVE AND TO SERVE PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AS THEY BRING GLORY TO GOD. THROUGH DISCOVERY'S BROAD SPECTRUM OF INTERCULTURAL EXPERIENCES, STUDENTS INTEGRATE THEIR FAITH AS THEY GROW SPIRITUALLY, EMOTIONALLY, SOCIALLY, IN LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER. DISCOVERY HELPS CREATE A STRUCTURE AND AN EXPERIENCE, WHICH SEEKS TO BREAK DOWN CULTURAL, RACIAL, ECONOMIC, ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS BARRIERS. STUDENTS LEARN TO LOVE ALL PEOPLE AND BECOME LEADERS TRANSFORMING THE WORLD FOR CHRIST. VALOR STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ENGAGE IN 100 HOURS OF SERVICE DURING THEIR FOUR YEARS AT VALOR BUT THE ULTIMATE DESIRE IS FOR THEM TO LEARN TO LOVE SERVICE. SINCE INCEPTION, OVER 285,000 HOURS OF SERVICE HAVE BEEN OFFERED BY VALOR STUDENTS IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES AND ABROAD. DURING THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR ALONE, OVER 19,000 SERVICE HOURS WERE RECORDED ON 29 DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES.
