THE CROSSING OF MANITOWOC COUNTY IS A NON-PROFIT, CHRISTIAN-BASED ORGANIZATION WITH A MISSION TO PROVIDE EMOTIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, MATERIAL, AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT TO CLIENTS, EMPOWERING THEM TO BECOME STRONG AND RESILIENT FAMILIES.

CLIENT SERVICES: LAY AND PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING AND SUPPORT, COMMUNITY REFERRALS, SUPPORT GROUPS AND A 24/7 HOTLINE. WE ALSO OFFER AN EARN WHILE YOU LEARN PROGRAM THAT PREPARES CURRENT AND EXPECTING PARENTS WITH EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS ABOUT PRENATAL DEVELOPMENT, INFANT HEALTH, PARENTING TECHNIQUES, AND LIFE SKILLS. PARTICIPATION EARNS POINTS THAT CAN BE REDEEMED FOR BABY SUPPLIES (CLOTHING, DIAPERS, FORMULA) AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD GOODS FROM OUR BOUTIQUE AND PANTRY. IN 2021, 1,500 PARENTING CLASSES WERE VIEWED. WE ARE OPEN 4 DAYS A WEEK PLUS BY APPOINTMENT. IN 2021 WE SERVED 180 DISTINCT CLIENTS. WE AVERAGE 136 VISITS/MONTH. ALL OUR SERVICES ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL.
THE CROSSING HOME: TO HELP DEDICATED, COMMITTED WOMEN BREAK THE CYCLE OF GENERATIONAL POVERTY. WE PROVIDE LIVING SPACE FOR UP TO 12 MONTHS, PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING, TRAINING IN COOKING, CLEANING, AND OTHER LIFE SKILLS, EDUCATION IN PARENTING SKILLS AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS. STAFF ORGANIZES APPROPRIATE RESOURCES SO CLIENTS CAN FINISH EDUCATION AND JOB TRAINING. OVER 1,000 OF PROGRAMMING CLASSES WERE DONE BY RESIDENTS LIVING AT THE HOME IN 2021. AT THE END OF THEIR STAY WE EXPECT MOST OF OUR RESIDENTS TO TRANSITION TO THEIR OWN HOMES/APARTMENTS. 5 WOMEN AND 7 CHILDREN HAD RESIDENCE IN THE HOME DURING 2021. ALL SERVICES AT THE HOME ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL.
MEDICAL CLINIC: PREGNANCY TESTING, LIMITED OBSTETRICAL ULTRASOUND TO VERIFY INTRAUTERINE PREGNANCY, LAY COUNSELING, EDUCATION ON ADOPTIONS, ABORTION RISKS AND PARENTING, STD/STI TESTING AND TREATMENT, OPEN 2 DAYS/WEEK FOR A TOTAL OF 10 HOURS WEEKLY (2 ADDITIONAL HOURS FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR) AND BY APPOINTMENT. 108 VISITS IN 2021. ALL SERVICES ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL.
