THE ROBERTSON SCHOLARS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (THE "PROGRAM") PROVIDES A YEARLY GRANT TO BOTH DUKE UNIVERSITY ("DUKE") AND UNC-CHAPEL HILL ("UNC") TO SUPPORT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR A SELECTIVE GROUP OF UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARS. SCHOLARS ARE SELECTED BASED ON THEIR EXTRAORDINARY POTENTIAL FOR LEADERSHIP AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. PROGRAMMATIC BENEFITS INCLUDE TUITION, ROOM AND BOARD, SUMMER FUNDING, AND RIGOROUS MENTORSHIP.THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ("ED") OF THE PROGRAM IS INVOLVED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THIS ACTIVITY, INCLUDING SCHOLARS SELECTION AND ONGOING SUPPORT, PROGRAMMATIC DESIGN AND DELIVERY, STRATEGIC VISION-SETTING AND PLANNING, AND FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT. THE ED DEVELOPS AND COORDINATES ACTIVITY EVENTS HOSTED FOR THE SCHOLARS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AND HE OVERSEES THE CROSS-CAMPUS COLLABORATION AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH BOTH THE DUKE AND UNC ADMINISTRATIONS. IN FISCAL YEAR ENDED 6/30/21, THERE WERE 59 SCHOLARS ATTENDING DUKE AND 68 SCHOLARS ATTENDING UNC.
