BRIGHT FUTURES PROVIDES RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. BRIGHT FUTURES WORKS TO INCREASE THE QUALITY, ACCESSIBILITY, AND AVAILABILITY OF EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION IN SAN MIGUEL, OURAY, MONTROSE, DELTA, AND SAN JUAN COUNTIES.

BRIGHT FUTURES SUPPORTS CHILD CARE AND PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS BY PROVIDING FREE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT COACHING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. OVER 26 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAININGS WERE OFFERED. BRIGHT FUTURES OVERSEES A COACHING, TRAINING AND MENTORING INITIATIVE TO ASSIST EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS IN EMBEDDING EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING IN THEIR CLASSROOMS. THEY FOCUS ON TEACHING CHILDREN LIFELONG SKILLS LIKE HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS, PROBLEM SOLVING, CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND HOW TO IDENTIFY WITH THEIR EMOTIONS AND THE EMOTIONS OF OTHERS. THIS FISCAL YEAR, 4,765 CHILDREN WERE SERVED ALONG WITH 365 EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS. BRIGHT FUTURES HOSTED PARENTING WORKSHOPS WITH OVER 162 ATTENDEES. BRIGHT FUTURES IMPLEMENTED A TEEN SUPPORT PROGRAM TO COMBAT SOCIAL ISOLATION AND THE CHALLENGES THAT HAVE COME FROM NOT HAVING ACCESS TO IN-PERSON SCHOOL. THERE WERE 20 TEEN FOCUSED ACTIVITIES PROVIDED AS WELL AS INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED. BRIGHT FUTURES' ROLL IN SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES MAGNIFIED DUE TO COVID-19. BRIGHT FUTURES PROVIDED PPE, CLEANING SUPPLIES, CHILDCARE SCHOLARSHIPS TO FAMILIES AND TRAININGS ON BEST PRACTICES ADHERING TO PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES. BRIGHT FUTURES SUPPORTED FAMILIES BE DELIVERING ESSENTIALS LIKE DIAPERS, FOOD AND WIPES. BRIGHT FUTURES ASSISTED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND SERVED AS A REFERRAL SOURCE TO AND FOR OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES.
