THE ORGANIZATION'S PURPOSE IS TO ADMINISTER VARIOUS CHARITABLE FUNDS, INCLUDING FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF IOWA TO BE USED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CITIZENS OF CARROLL AND SAC COUNTIES. THE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTERS AND GROWS VARIOUS 501(C)(3) ENDOWMENT FUNDS, INCLUDING THOSE ENDOWMENT FUNDS CREATED FOR EACH COUNTY UNDER STATE STATUTE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF IOWA CITIZENS.

THE ORGANIZATION DIRECTLY ADMINISTERS MULTIPLE FUNDS, INCLUDING SIX ENDOWMENT FUNDS ACCORDING TO THE FEDERAL AND STATE REQUIREMENTS, AND THE NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS. THE MAJORITY OF THE DIRECT SUPPORT FOR THE ORGANIZATION IS RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF IOWA, CURRENTLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF CARROLL COUNTY AND SAC COUNTY. OF THOSE FUNDS, 25% ARE REQUIRED TO BE PLACED IN PERMANENT ENDOWMENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CITIZENS OF CARROLL COUNTY AND SAC COUNTY. THE REMAINING FUNDS FROM THE STATE ARE TO BE USED FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF EACH COUNTY TO ENHANCE THE CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, AS WELL AS FOR THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND OTHER COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES. THE ORGANIZATION WILL ONLY PROVIDE GRANTS TO QUALIFIED PROJECTS MEETING THE CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES TO BENEFIT COMMUNITY CITIZENS AND TO GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS OR THOSE RECOGNIZED AS ELIGIBLE CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS UNDER 26 U.S.C. 501(C)(3) OR THOSE SIMILARLY QUALIFIED.
