THE MISSION OF THE OSWEGO PUBLIC LIBRARY IS TO BE THE LEARNING CENTER FOR THE GREATER OSWEGO AREA AND THE PLACE PEOPLE TURN TO FOR THE DISCOVERY OF IDEAS, THE JOB OF READING AND THE POWER OF INFORMATION. COMMUNITY NEEDS DRIVE OUR SERVICES. WE BELIEVE THAT LIBRARY SERVICES SHOULD BE DELIVERED IN A WELCOMING, CONVENIENT AND RESPONSIVE MANOR.

THE ORGANIZATION IS A PUBLIC LIBRARY WHICH PROVIDES RESEARCH AND ENRICHMENT TO THE COMMUNITY IT SERVES. THE LIBRARY IS PRIMARILY FUNDED BY LOCAL TAXPAYERS THROUGH A YEARLY ASSESSMENT OF TAXES COLLECTED BY THE LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT.
