MINORITY AND WOMEN BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (MWBE) ASSISTS FIRMS TO INCREASE THEIR BUSINESS CAPACITY AND ABILITY TO COMPETE FOR CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES. SECURE THE PARTICIPATION OF ELIGIBLE MINORITY AND WOMEN OWNED FIRMS AS WELL AS LOCAL BUSINESSES IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROCUREMENT AND OTHER OPPORTUNITIES. SECURE THE PARTICIPATION OF LOCAL RESIDENTS IN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AVALIABLE THROUGH DEVELOPMENT AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECTS.
WOMEN'S MICROENTERPRISE INSTITUTE (WMI) ASSISTS IMMIGRANT WOMEN, AS WELL AS OTHER DISADVANTAGED WOMEN TO BECOME ECONOMICALLY SELF SUFFICIENT BY TEACHING AND ASSISTING THEM START, MANAGE AND GROW A SUCCESSFUL MICROENTERPRISE VENTURE.
