COMMUNITY BASED MENTORING: THIS COUNTY-WIDE PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILDREN FACING ADVERSITY WITH STRONG AND ENDURING, PROFESSIONALLY SUPPORTED, SAFE, STRONG, ONE-TO-ONE MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CARING VOLUNTEER ADULTS. MEETING ON A REGULAR AND CONSISTENT BASIS FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR, MATCHES WORK TOWARDS EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES, CHANGES IN ATTITUDES AND COMPETENCIES, ASPIRING TOWARDS HIGHER ASPIRATIONS AND, AVOIDANCE OF RISKY BEHAVIORS THAT CAN LEAD TO DELINQUENCY AND ENTRY IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM. MATCHES RECEIVED ON-GOING MATCH SUPPORT COACHING, SKILL TRAINING, ASSISTING EACH MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS TO GROW STRONGER IN DURATION. IN 2023 - 66 MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS WERE SUPPORTED IN COMMUNITY BASES MENTORING, HELPING YOUTH BECOME RESPONSIBLE,PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS, WHO ARE ABLE TO ACHIEVE LIFELONG SUCCESS.
SITE-BASED MENTORING: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILDREN FACING ADVERSITY WITH STRONG AND ENDURING, PROFESSIONALLY SUPPORTED, SAFE, ONE-TO-ONE MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CARING VOLUNTEER COLLEGE OR BUSINESS ADULTS, WHO MEET WITH THEM IN A SCHOOL OR AT A PARTNER SITE. PARTNER SITES IN 2023 WERE: WEST POINT, VALLEY CENTRAL MIDDLE SCHOOL, BEREA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND HIGHLAND FALLS/FORT MONTGOMERY SCHOOL DISTRICTS. MEETING ON A REGULAR AND CONSISTENT BASIS FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR, WORKING TOWARDS POSITIVE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES, CHANGES IN ATTITUDES AND COMPETENCIES,ASPRING TOWARDS HIGHER ASPIRATIONS AND AVIODANCE OF RISKY BEHAVIORS THAT CAN LEAD TO ACADEMIC FAILURE OR LOSS OF CONFIDENCE TO SUCCEED.
