TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE - EXPERTISE IN TEACHING ARTISTS HOW TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS ENTITY IS PROVIDED. ASSISTANCE IN PORTFOLIO PREPARATION, PROJECT SPONSORSHIP, SOCIAL MEDIA/PRESS MANAGEMENT, AND AUDIENCE CULTIVATION IS PROVIDED AS OFTEN ARTISTS LACK THE BUSINESS TRAINING NECESSARY TO SURVIVE IN THE COMPETITIVE ARTS WORLD.GRANTS TO ARTISTS - CAF IS COMMITTED TO ASSISTING ARTISTS OF CUBAN ANCESTRY IN THE LITERARY, PERFORMING, AND VISUAL ARTS. OFTEN THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ARTISTS' STUDIO EXPERIENCE BY ATTENDING OPEN-STUDIO SESSIONS WHERE THEY CAN MEET WITH ARTISTS TO DISCUSS THEIR INFLUENCES, CREATIVE PROCESSES AND CHALLENGES.CURATOR IN RESIDENCE - THIS PROGRAM AFFORDS EMERGING ART PROFESSIONALS TO IMPLEMENT AN EXHIBITION THROUGH CAF AND, BY EXTENSION, THROUGH OUR PARTNERS. THE EXPERIENCE SERVES AS A LEARNING TOOL FOR CURATORS, TEACHING VALUABLE LESSONS IN THE PRODUCTION OF AN EXHIBITION FROM START TO FINISH. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:IN 2021, CAF FEATURED THE FOLLOWING ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE:RAL CORDERO, MARCH/APRIL 2021 - THE WORK OF RAUL CORDERO IS CHARACTERIZED BY A CONSTANT SCRUTINY ON CURRENT ISSUES AND SITUATIONS AFFECTING OUR LIVES AND BEHAVIORS AS CONTEMPORARY INDIVIDUALS, WHILE EXAMINING THE SPECIFIC NATURE AND HISTORY OF THE MEDIA HE EMPLOYS. BOTH IDEAS INTERTWINE IN A PRACTICE OF MULTILAYERED NATURE WHERE IMAGE AND TEXT DIALOGUE IN A RELATIONSHIP OF CONCEPTUAL DISSONANCE BUT VISUAL COHERENCE.
