ACADEMIC CENTER- TUTITION AND RELATED SERVICES:THE ACADEMIC DIVISION OF THE MARITIME INSTITUTE, LOCATED IN LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, MD, PROVIDES HIGH QUALITY CONTINUING EDUCATION AND RE-CERTIFICATIONS FOR THE MARITIME INDUSTRY. IN ADDITION TO TRAINING THE MEMBERS OF THE IOMM&P, THE INSTITUTE TRAINS MANY MEMBERS IN THE U.S. MILITARY, FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS, U.S. SHIPPING COMPANIES, PILOT ORGANIZATIONS, INDEPENDENT MARINERS, TUG AND BARGE COMPANIES, ETC. THE MARITIME INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ALSO PROVIDES GROUND-BREAKING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE INDUSTRY. THE INSTITUTE IS ALSO CERTIFIED BY THE MARYLAND HIGHER EDUCATION COMMISSION AS A SCHOOL OF HIGHER LEARNING.
