THE LIONS EYE INSTITUTE FOUNDATION RAISES FUNDS THAT SUPPORT THE MISSION AND VISION OF THE LIONS EYE INSTITUTE FOR TRANSPLANT AND RESEARCH. CONTRIBUTIONS MADE TO THE FOUNDATION SUPPORT THE GRATIS OCULAR TISSUE PROGRAM, WHICH GIVES THE GIFT OF SIGHT TO INDIVIDUALS WHO OTHERWISE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD SIGHT-SAVING SURGERY; THE OPERATIONS OF THE TRANSPLANT LABORATORY THROUGH SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR THE RECOVERY OF OCULAR TISSUE AND TO ENSURE IT IS SAFE FOR THE TRANSPLANT RECIPIENT; THE UPKEEP OF OUR HISTORIC HEADQUARTERS IN YBOR CITY, THE 1907 F. LORENZO CIGAR FACTORY; THE VISION HEALTH PROGRAM, WHICH PROVIDES VISION SCREENING AND PREVENTATIVE SERVICES TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN; (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)THE OCULAR RESEARCH CENTER AND THEIR EFFORTS IN UNDERSTANDING AND CONTRIBUTING TO TREATMENTS FOR AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION AND GLAUCOMA; AND TOWARDS INNOVATION THAT FURTHERS THE EYE BANKING INDUSTRY.
