PROGRAMS INCLUDE: FREE LEGAL SERVICES AVAILABLE THROUGH STATEWIDE TOLL-FREE HELPLINE AND STAFF ATTORNEYS LOCATED ACROSS THE STATE; MEDICARE AND MAINECARE (MEDICAID) INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN STATE HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE AND SENIOR MEDICARE PATROL PROGRAMS; FREE ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY MEDICARE PART D APPEALS UNIT IN APPEALING DENIALS OF MEDICATIONS UNDER MEDICARE PART D AND ENSURING ACCESS TO HELP IN AFFORDING MEDICATIONS; OUTREACH AND EDUCATION; AND PUBLIC POLICY AND LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY PURSUED ON BEHALF OF THE OLDER PEOPLE.
