MISSION:

THE RICHMOND COMMUNITY BAIL FUND EXISTS TO POST BAIL FOR EVERYONE IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA WHO NEEDS IT IN ORDER TO HELP THEM AVOID THE MANY IMMEDIATE AND COLLATERAL CONSEQUENCES OF INCARCERATION. ALSO TO WORK TOWARDS THE ABOLITION OF CASH BAIL, PRETRIAL DETENTION AND SUPERVISION.

These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

The goal of this organization is to build, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing for low-income individuals and families, older adults and people with disabilities; or which make purchasable housing available to low or moderate income families by offering lower priced housing and/or affordable payment plans, by arranging for interest or mortgage subsidies or by involving eventual owners in the construction process (sweat equity).
