MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to preserve and protect endangered land resources from indiscriminate development, destruction or decay and which manage the utilization of renewable and nonrenewable resources to ensure ongoing availability. Included are conservation of the nations forests, rangeland, vegetation, deserts, wild and scenic rivers and other wilderness areas and open land spaces; and reestablishment of areas that have been devastated by destructive activities such as strip mining or other destructive activities.

OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH, WELL BEING AND SAFETY OF THE RESIDENTS AND VISITORS OF BLOCK ISLAND.

THE SOUTHEAST LIGHTHOUSE FOUNDATION PRESERVES AND PROTECTS THE SOUTHEAST LIGHTHOUSE ON BLOCK ISLAND, RI, A NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK. WE INCREASE THE COMMUNITY'S KNOWLEDGE AND INTEREST IN THE LIGHTHOUSE AND ENSURE ACCESS FOR EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES.

TO PROCURE AND PRESERVE OBJECTS AND RECORDS PERTAINING TO THE HISTORY OF BLOCK ISLAND, RHODE ISLAND, AND TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE THE STUDY OF THE HISTORY OF BLOCK ISLAND

MISSION:

THE FOUNDATION (BIED) AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES' MISSION IS TO IMPROVE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL CONDITIONS FOR RESIDENTS OF BLOCK ISLAND.BIED HAS DONE THIS BY PROVIDING LOW AND MODERATE HOUSING. BIED HAS ALSO BUILT AND NOW MANAGESA COMMUNITY CENTER THAT PROVIDES CHILD CARE AND SENIOR ACTIVITIES. BIED ALSO OPERATES A GALLERY FOR LOCAL ARTISTS.

MARINE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO TEACH STUDENTS & THE GENERAL PUBLIC SKILLS IN THIS AREA

MISSION:

THE BLOCK ISLAND CLUB EXISTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE ENTIRE ISLAND COMMUNITY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FULL-TIME RESIDENTS OF BLOCK ISLAND, SUMMER RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO BLOCK ISLAND. ITS PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE OF THE ISLAND COMMUNITY THROUGH RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, SAILING AND SEAMANSHIP, SWIMMING AND WATER SAFETY, TENNIS AND ARTS AND CRAFTS. THE BLOCK ISLAND CLUB FURTHER EXISTS TO PROMOTE AN APPRECIATION OF THE UNIQUE CHARACTER OF BLOCK ISLAND'S NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AMONG CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN THE COMMUNITY.

THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THE BLOCK ISLAND TOURISM COUNCIL IS TO PLAN, PROMOTE AND MARKET TOURISM BEYOND BLOCK ISLAND. WORKING WITHIN THE APPLICABLE STATE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, BOARD MEMBERSHIP HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO IDENTIFY OUR TARGET TOURISM MARKET, AND DEVELOP MARKETING CAMPAIGNS THAT ATTRACT VISITORS TO OUR AREA.
