MISSION:

THE PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION IS TO SUPPORT AND ENRICH FAMILIES IN A COMMUNITY CONTEXT TO BUILD MORE VITAL LIVES AND NEIGHBORHOODS IN SOUTH PITTSBURGH. THROUGH ITS PROVISION OF HUMAN SERVICES AND COMMUNITY ACTION, THE ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZES COMMUNITY STRENGTHS AND ENCOURAGES SELF-HELP, CITIZEN EDUCATION, AND COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT. THE ASSOCIATION HAS TWO COMMUNITY CENTERS, THE FIRST IS IN THE SOUTH SIDE FLATS AND THE SECOND IS THE HENRY KAUFMAN NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE IN THE HILLTOP. THE ALSO OPERATE A NEIGHBORHOOD EMPLOYMENT CENTER IN ALLENTOWN.

THE CORPORATION IS ORGANIZED AND WILL BE OPERATED AT ALL TIMES EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE BENEFIT OF, TO PERFORM THE FUNCTIONS OF, AND/OR TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES OF LIGHT OF LIFE MINISTRIES, INC.

SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION FOR CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY.

WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP CORP'S PURPOSE IS TO MAKE LOCAL STANDARDS, IN CONFORMITY WITH THE NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING STANDARDS FOR THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING INDUSTRY, GOVERNING THE SELECTION, QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF APPRENTICES WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP CORP IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE TO SUPERVISE ALL MATTERS INVOLVING APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING IN CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE LOCAL APPRENTICESHIP STANDARDS AND THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN LOCAL UNION NO 5, IBEW AND WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER NECA, INC WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP CORP IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRAINING OF JOURNEYMEN AND OTHERS IN ADDITION, WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP CORP HAS ESTABLISHED THE IBEW LOCAL UNION NO 5 AND WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER NECA SCHOLARSHIP TRUST FUND.

STEEL CITY SQUASH'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE CONSISTENT AND LONG-TERM SUPPORT TO UNDERSERVED PITTSBURGH STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. BY MAINTAINING THE HIGHEST STANDARD, STEEL CITY SQUASH ENCOURAGES EACH PARTICIPANT TO ACHIEVE HIS OR HER FULLEST POTENTIAL IN THE CLASSROOM, ON THE SQUASH COURT, AND IN THE COMMUNITY.

GLOBAL LINKS IS A NON-PROFIT DEDICATED TO IMPROVING HEALTH IN COMMUNITIES WITH NEED. GLOBAL LINKS COLLABORATES WITH U.S. HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS AND THE COMMUNITY TO RESCUE HUNDREDS OF TONS OF HIGH-QUALITY SURPLUS MEDICAL MATERIALS EVERY YEAR. THESE MATERIALS ARE SHARED WITH PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES AROUND THE WORLD AND WITH NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA THAT ARE PROVIDING CARE FOR THEIR COMMUNITY'S MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE.
