TO PROMOTE AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE AURORA COLONY BY PROVIDING EDUCATION PROGRAMS ABOUT COLONY LIFE AND TIMES. THE AURORA COLONY HISTORICAL SOCIETY ALSO COLLECTS, PRESERVES AND EXHIBITS COLONY ARTIFACTS TO OVER 8,000 VISITORS PER YEAR.

MISSION:

CHAMPOEG CEMETERY ASSOCIATION IS ONE OF OREGON'S EARLIEST PIONEER CEMETERIES, DATING BACK TO THE TIME OF THE RELOCATION OF THE TOWN OF CHAMPOEG AFTER THE GREAT FLOOD OF 1861. THE PROPERTY IS MAINTAINED IN AN EFFORT TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF EARLY OREGON SETTLERS AND TO PROVIDE CEMETERY SPACE TO CURRENT CITZENS OF OREGON.

These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to provide support services to patients and their families. Programs can include social and recreational activities for people who are recovering from surgery or a serious illnesses; supportive services for children who are ill and for their families which enable family members to remain with a child who is hospitalized; family and sibling support groups, and programs which attempt to make a gravely or terminally ill child’s final days, weeks and months more pleasant. APPROXIMATELY 50% OF OUR TIME AND RESOURCES - WORK WITH STATE, COUNTY AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITY OFFICIALS TO PROMOTE THE SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION OF BUSINESS AND AVIATION OPERATIONS AT AURORA STATE AIRPORT. THIS WORK IS ONGOING AND CONDUCTED AS DUTIES OF THE BOARD MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATION MEMBERS, ALL OF WHICH ARE VOLUNTEERS.2. APPROXIMATELY 50% OF OUR TIME AND RESOURCES - WORK DIRECTLY WITH OREGON DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION (ODA) (AIRPORT OWNER) AND THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) TO DEVELOP AND PROMOTE SAFE AND EFFICIENT AVIATION OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE AIRPORT. SPECIFICALLY, DEVELOPING STRATEGIES ASSOCIATED WITH MAINTENANCE OF EXISTING RUNWAY AND TAXIWAYS AS WELL AS THE IMPROVEMENT OF SAME TO INCLUDE EXTENSIONOF THE RUNWAY.
