THE CALLING OF BITTERSWEET, INC. IS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND ACTIVE TREATMENT PROGRAMS TO INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM. ENCOMPASSING AN ARRAY OF ENVIRONMENTS AND SERVICES ACROSS THREE DIFFERENT SETTINGS, THE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO INCREASE AUTONOMY AND SELF-RELIANCE, ENABLE CHOICES, MAXIMIZE DIGNITY, AND ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY INTERACTIONS. BITTERSWEET, INC. FURTHER STRIVES TO POSITIVELY AFFECT THE LIVES OF THOSE WITH AUTISM THROUGH HABILITATION AND VOCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN A FARM ENVIRONMENT AND BY PROVIDING CONSULTATION AND TRAINING TO FAMILIES AND PROFESSIONALS.

THE CENTER IMPROVES THE WELL-BEING OF NORTHWEST OHIO WILDLIFE POPULATIONS AND HABITAT THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION AND REHABILITATION OF INJURED, AILING, AND ORPHANED WILDLIFE WITH AN EMPHASIS ON COEXISTENCE.

SUPPORTING THE MISSION AND OPERATIONS OF BITTERSWEET, INC., WITH A FOCUS ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT PRACTICES AND OWNING AND OPERATING REAL ESTATE AND PROVIDING OTHER AFFORDABLE INDEPENDENT HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM.

The goal of this organization is to emphasize the total development of young people through work on animal, engineering, family/consumer health, resource, plant or social science projects in consultation with their parents and supervising adult volunteers. Members also participate in camping activities, leadership conferences, awards programs and community service activities.
