DEFIANCE COLLEGE GRADUATES STUDENTS TO LEAD DISTINCTIVE LIVES IN THEIR CHOSEN PROFESSIONS THROUGH A SPIRIT OF SERVICE BY PREPARING THEM TO KNOW, TO UNDERSTAND, TO LEAD, AND TO SERVE.

Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. The goal of this organization are the organizations whose members are business and professional men and/or women or other individuals who have a common interest in improving the life of the community, which conduct fund-raising events to finance community service projects. Many service clubs are chapters of national or international organizations.

THE DEFIANCE AREA YMCA IS A CHARITABLE COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATION THAT INCLUDES MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES, ABILITIES, INCOMES, RACES AND RELIGIONS. WE ARE DEDICATED TO BUILDING STRONG KIDS, STRONG FAMILIES, AND STRONG COMMUNITIES BY PUTTING CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, STRONG VALUES, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND COMMUNITY INTERACTION. ALL PERSONS ARE WELCOME AT OUR YMCA, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. OUR YMCA IS FOUNDED AND LED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM OUR COMMUNITY, VOLUNTEERS ALSO SERVE AS MENTORS, COACHES, PROGRAM LEADERS, INSTRUCTORS AND MORE.

SERVICE TO MANKIND - FRATERNAL ORGANIZATION. PROVIDE A SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT FOR MEMBERS WHILE MAKING CONTRIBUTIONS TO CHARITIES AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS EITHER WITH FUNDS OR VOLUNTEERISM.
