THE ASSOCIATION ALSO REPRESENTS THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME AND THEIR FAMILIES TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE, PRESERVE RIGHTS AND ADVANCE THE INTEREST OF PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME THEREBY ENHANCING THEIR STATUS AS CITIZENS AND ENABLING MAXIMUM INDEPENDENCE AND PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY.
