THE GATEWAY-LONGVIEW FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED ON JUNE 15, 1998, FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS OF GATEWAY-LONGVIEW, INC. PRIVATE CHARITABLE FUNDS RAISED ARE UTILIZED TO SUPPORT THE OPERATIONS AND PROGRAMS OF GATEWAY-LONGVIEW, AND ARE ALSO INVESTED TO SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION INTO PERPETUITY.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to provide services relating to public affairs or society benefit where the major purpose is unclear enough that a more specific code cannot be accurately assigned.

THE CORPORATION WILL FURTHER THE EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE OF THE UNIVERSITY BY PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CLINICAL INSTRUCTION OF MEDICAL STUDENTS BY DEPARTMENT FACULTY.

TO PROMOTE THE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY BY CONDUCTING AND FUNDING PROGRAMS TO EDUCATE AMERICANS ON MENTAL WELLNESS ISSUES. THE FOUNDATION WILL DESIGN AND HOLD A VARIETY OF PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL FORUMS, SEMINARS AND "SUMMITS" OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, WITHOUT CHARGE TO THE ATTENDEES, AT LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO PRESENT LECTURES AND INFORMATION ON MENTAL WELLNESS ISSUES INCLUDING DISTRIBUTING PRINTED MATERIALS OR "KITS" OF INFORMATION AT THE PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE HOME WITH THEM TO READ AND LEARN FROM.

THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO SUPPORT THE EFFORTS OF ITS MEMBER DEALERS AND THE MORE THAN 5,000 INDIVIDUALS THEY EMPLOY. THE ORGANIZATIONS PROGRAMS ARE CENTERED ON GENERATING INTEREST IN EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT NEW AUTOMOBILES AND CURRENT TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES IN THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY PRIMARILY THROUGH THE HOSTING OF AN ANNUAL AUTO SHOW. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PROVIDES INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO ITS MEMBER DEALERSHIPS AND THEIR STAFF RELATED TO COMPLIANCE ISSUES AND REGULATIONS, AS WELL AS MONITORING CHANGES IN THE LAW THAT MAY AFFECT THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY.
