The goal of this organization is to build, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing for low-income individuals and families, older adults and people with disabilities; or which make purchasable housing available to low or moderate income families by offering lower priced housing and/or affordable payment plans, by arranging for interest or mortgage subsidies or by involving eventual owners in the construction process (sweat equity).

DUNBAR FACILITATES 3 MAIN AREAS OF PROGRAMMING: SENIOR SERVICES, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND YOUTH/FAMILY SERVICES. WE PROVIDE WRAP AROUND SERVICES FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS THAT INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: CASE MANAGEMENT, LINKAGE AND NAVIGATION, ACADEMIC SUPPORT, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, ADVOCACY,TRANSPORTATION AND JOB SKILLS.

MISSION:

PROVIDE A CONSTRUCTION CREW THAT PERFORMS WORK ON AND REVITALIZES PROPERTIES PRIMARILY IN LOW AND MODERATE-INCOME NEIGHBORHOOD OR PRIMARILY FOR LOW AND MODERATE-INCOME BENEFICIARIES. ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES THAT SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE WITH ACTIVITIES SUCH AS PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MINORITY AND WOMEN BUSINESS ENTERPRISES, ADVANCING GEEN AND SUSTAINABLE BUILDING PRACTICES AND SUPPORTING JOB TRAINING EFFORTS.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO IMPROVE THE STANDARD OF LIVING AND PROPERTY VALUES WITHIN THE SOUTHWEST AREA OF THE CITY OF SYRACUSE THROUGH CONSTRUCTION, RENTING OR LEASING HOMES AND PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO POTENTIAL HOMEOWNERS.
