THE VOORHEES ANIMAL ORPHANAGE ("VAO") IS A MUNICIPAL ANIMAL SHELTER DEDICATED TO PROVIDING SHELTER, FOOD AND MEDICAL CARE TO STRAY AND UNWANTED ANIMALS, UNTIL THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES CAN BE FOUND. WE ARE AN OPEN-INTAKE SHELTER THAT STRIVES TO MEET A LIVE RELEASE RATE OF 90% OR BETTER (A.K.A., "NO KILL"). WE PRESENTLY SERVE 19 MUNICIPALITIES IN CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ AND 10 MUNICIPALITIES IN SALEM COUNTY. IF A CAT OR DOG GETS LOST IN THESE AREAS, ODDS ARE THEY WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE VAO.WE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST ANY BREED, NOR DO WE TURN AN ANIMAL AWAY DUE TO MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR AGE. EACH AND EVERY ANIMAL IN OUR SHELTER RECEIVES INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION AND ATTENTION, REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF ANIMALS WE MAY HAVE IN OUR CARE.WE ARE ALSO AN ADOPTION CENTER. THAT MEANS WHEN SPACE ALLOWS, WE ARE ABLE TO RESCUE CATS AND DOGS FROM OVER-CROWDED, HIGH-KILL SHELTERS AND RESCUES. WE WORK WITH THE LOCAL SHELTERS SUCH AS BURLINGTON COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER, HOMEWARD BOUND ADOPTION SHELTER, AND PHI

THE CORPORATION IS ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY-BASED CARE MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WHO HAVE EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISTURBANCES AND PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS. IT IS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE THE YOUTH ABOUT THEIR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND TEACH THEM LIFE SKILLS.

TO ACCEPT, HOLD AND INVEST THE CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED TO PRESERVE, EXPAND AND MAKE AVAILABLE THE ARCHIVAL RECORDS AND COLLECTIONS OF HISTORICAL MATERIAL OF WOMEN IN MEDICINE

THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS THE COLLECTION OF FEES TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF ITS EXEMPT STATUS- OPERATION OF A PRESCHOOL

OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE AVAILABILITY OF TREATMENT THROUGHOUT CAMDEN COUNTY.

The goal of this organization is to administer centralized fundraising efforts and then in turn distribute the contributed funds to several nonprofit agencies.
