IT WAS ORGANIZED IN 1947 FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF BUILDING A HOSPITAL IN THE COMMUNITY. CONSTRUCTION WAS COMPLETED IN 1952, WITH ADDITIONS IN 1963 AND 1969. THE HOSPITAL GROUNDS, BUILDING, AND CLINIC ACROSS THE STREET IS OWNED BY THE COMMUNITY. THE BOARD IS FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF THE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS. THE HOSPITAL (A CRITICALACCESS LEVEL V DESIGNATED TRAUMA FACILITY WITH 24 BEDS AND 24 HOUR EMERGENCY ROOM CAPABILITIES)AND CLINIC (NCHC) ARE LEASED BY THE CURRENT TENANTS. THE 9 MEMBER BOARD MEETS ON A MONTHLY BASIS TO KEEP ABREAST OF THE HOSPITAL OPERATION AND NEEDS AND WORKS WITH THE MAINTENANCE STAFF, PROFESSIONALS, AND HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION TO KEEP THE FACILITY VIABLE AND SAFE.THE NEXT CLOSEST FACILITY IS 60 MILES AWAY WHICH MAKES IT VITALLY IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO SERVE THE PEOPLE OF OUR AREA.
